Sibley Lake Campground sits along the Bighorn Scenic Byway (U.S. Highway 14) near Burgess Junction at about 7,900 feet, putting you in a stand of lodgepole pine with Prune Creek and the small Sibley Lake at the edge of camp. The site count is compact and practical: 24 campsites in all, 23 configured to accommodate either RVs or tents and one tent-only site. Each single-family site includes a picnic table and a campfire ring with a grill, and the loop is served by accessible vault toilets, drinking water and trash collection. Two non-towed vehicles are allowed per site the first vehicle is included in the base fee and a second vehicle is charged $10 per day at the campground and firewood bundles are available from the campground host. A handful of sites offer Standard Electric service for an extra $4 per night; if you apply an Access or Senior pass the total nightly charge for those sites becomes $13. For questions about the campground or reservations you can contact the administering organization, Gallatin Canyon Campgrounds, at gccampgrounds13@gmail.com. The lake itself is limited to non-motorized craft and has an accessible fishing dock where anglers fish for rainbow, brown and brook trout, while the surrounding Bighorn National Forest opens up opportunities for everything from scenic driving and mountain biking to horseback riding, off-highway vehicle routes and hiking many trails lead into the Cloud Peak Wilderness or follow creeks and ridgelines. If you want interpretation or a longer drive, Shell Falls Visitor Center and its overlook are roughly 25 miles to the southwest and offer short interpretive trails and displays about the area's natural history. Reservations and cancellations go through recreation.gov; note that refund requests made there incur a $10 processing fee and the contracted reservation fee is non-refundable and retained by the reservation service contractor (the campground concessionaire will not return those fees), so check availability and cancellation policies carefully before booking. The campground is reached by following U.S. Highway 14 southwest from Dayton for about 25 miles.
