“Nice camp ground right on the river site #5 large older forest very nice campground but be prepared for trains which blow their horns very close and cars that honk going thru the tunnel and Trucks that Jake brake for the tunnel very nice but very noisy. Good for one night stays”
“We had a lovely time at the campground. Everything that we experienced was up to par. We would love to have flush toilets and showers but understand that they are not provided. ”

Money Creek Campground sits on the banks of the South Fork Skykomish River beneath a tall old-growth canopy, where the sound of the river and the space between sites create a quiet, rustic feel. The campground has 23 standard sites each designed to accommodate both tents and RVs several of which sit right at the river's edge, while the rest are widely spaced under maples, firs and cedars. Basic amenities are practical and minimal: picnic tables at each site, vault toilets and potable drinking water. The drive-in approach places you about 30 miles east of Monroe on Highway 2; a short spur road leads south from the highway to the river access and campground parking area, making Money Creek an easy stop on a Cascade highway route from Everett or points east. The surrounding Mt. Baker Snoqualmie National Forest frames the campground with rugged peaks, alpine lakes and extensive trail networks 1,500 miles of trails offer everything from smooth forest walks to technical ascents and the forest supports a broad range of activities including auto touring, biking, boating, hiking, horseback riding and winter sports. On-site recreation centers on river fishing in summer and early fall and cross-country skiing or snowshoeing in winter, with the nearby Miller River/Money Creek Winter Sports Area commonly used as a base. A popular nearby route, the Barclay Creek Trail, climbs to Barclay Lake at 2,422 feet and delivers views of the north face of Baring Mountain rising roughly 3,700 feet above the lake; beyond that, Mt. Baker dominates the regional skyline at 10,781 feet with year-round snow and glaciers. Wildlife in the area includes mountain goats, coyotes, pine marten and numerous migratory birds and native fish. For planning or facility-specific questions call (360) 386-8214, and note an important reservation policy: once your reservation start date has begun, neither Recreation.gov nor the campground manager can modify that reservation. Nearby cultural and recreation draws include the Stevens Pass Historic District and, roughly a two-hour drive away, the Stevens Pass Ski Area, while larger destinations such as North Cascades and Mount Rainier National Parks are within regional day-trip range.
