Tasha Equestrian Campground sits at about 9,000 feet in central Utah, roughly four miles north of Fish Lake and reached from Highway 24 near Loa by taking Highway 25 northeast for about 14 miles. The site is forested with a mix of aspen, spruce and pines that provide partial shade while most campsites open to sweeping mountain and valley views; because of the elevation the setting feels remote and weather can change quickly, so warm layers and rain protection are wise even in summer. There are ten campsites in total, all configured to accommodate both RVs and tents, plus a separate group site with a picnic shelter for larger gatherings. Basic on-site amenities include flush toilets and potable drinking water; roads and campsite spurs are gravel but are reported to have good access for trailers and trucks. What makes Tasha stand out is its horse-oriented infrastructure and trail access. The campground is laid out for equestrian use with corrals, a staging area, hitching racks and direct trailheads, and many miles of riding, hiking, biking and OHV routes weave through the surrounding forest. Johnson Valley Reservoir lies about a half-mile away and provides boating and fishing with a boat ramp, while Fish Lake less than ten minutes from camp supports boating, swimming, scuba diving and is known for large Mackinaw lake trout; the Fish Lake area also has boat ramps, rentals, fuel, a marina and basic supplies and services. The nearby Mytoge Mountain Trail offers a 25-mile loop for hikers and bikers ranging from easy cruising to technical singletrack. Fees, reservation rules and seasonal openings can change, so check with Fishlake National Forest before you go; otherwise expect a compact, horse-friendly campground with solid access and straightforward facilities.
