“Well marked and easy to find. Nicely shaded spot.”
“Beautiful tiny campground. Site 2 was very private but it was a little tight for our 25 ft trailer. Bathrooms very clean. The park was filled every night we were there. ”
“Beautiful setting. It's a ways off the main highway, but well worth the little extra drive. We were pleasantly surprised by the flush toilets in a very clean bathroom. ”

Sunglow Campground sits in a red-rock box canyon about a half-mile south of Bicknell on Highway 24, with a short turn east onto Forest Road 143 to reach the site the canyon floor is at roughly 7,200 feet, so nights are noticeably cooler than the low desert. The site's vegetation is sparse: cottonwoods and junipers give only limited shade while sagebrush and summer wildflowers color the landscape. Because the campground is close to miles of multi-use trails and the Great Western Trail, it's a good base for hiking, mountain biking and off-highway vehicle routes; anglers and birders can explore the nearby Ke Bullock Waterfowl Management Area, and Capitol Reef National Park is roughly 20 miles away for longer day trips. Sightseeing along Utah Highway 12, a nationally designated scenic byway, is an easy add-on when you want more dramatic red-rock canyon driving and overlooks. The campground has eight campsites total, all configured for both RVs and tents, and it also includes two group sites that each accommodate up to 20 people, so it works for solo campers, small rigs and larger groups. Basic amenities include flush toilets and drinking water, and a large parking area can handle trailers; note that while the route to the campground is paved, the campground road and individual parking spurs are gravel. The Forest Service manages the facility, so for current conditions, seasonal availability, fees or reservation rules call the campground information line at (877) 444-6777 before you go.
