“Great campground. Out of the way but close to home. ”
“Super pretty spot! Lots of space for cars and tents. Right next to the creek to hang out by as well! ”

Boy Scout Campground sits at about 6,320 feet in South Willow Canyon, southwest of Grantsville on the Stansbury Front. The site is a small, primitive facility spread along Willow Creek beneath stands of oak, maple and juniper; the creek runs through the campground and supports rainbow and brown trout, so bring a rod if you plan to fish. The campground has seven total sites (7 Both RV Sites & Tent Sites): five single-family sites (each listed at $20 and holding up to 8 people), one double site ($36, capacity 16) and one group site ($65, capacity 35). Each site includes a picnic table, campfire circle and a tent pad, and vault toilets are available, but there is no water system pack in all water you will need. The road up South Willow Canyon is scenic and mostly paved until the national forest boundary, then gravel for the last several miles; it becomes steep and narrow, with potholes in places, so while most vehicles can make the trip it's not recommended for trailers and the upper reaches often hold snow from November into mid-June. This campground places you directly across the road from the multi-use Stansbury Front and Medina Flat Trails, which provide access into the rugged Deseret Peak Wilderness for day hikes or overnight horse trips. Beyond hiking and fishing, the greater Uinta-Wasatch-Cache area supports auto touring, biking, horseback riding, OHV use, wildlife viewing and picnicking; there are five Forest Service campgrounds along South Willow Canyon Road if you want alternatives nearby. Reservations and facility questions are handled through Recreation.gov (reservations appear on credit card statements as "Recreation.gov 877-444-6777") or by calling 1-877-444-6777; for facility-specific information call (385) 273-1100. Note the reservation policy details: a $10 service fee applies to most changes or cancellations, late cancellations typically forfeit the first night's fee in addition to the $10 service fee, no-shows can be assessed a $20 fee and forfeit use fees, and refund requests must be made within 14 days of departure.
