“It might be a little difficult to find if you don’t know the location but it was a beautiful area to stay in. It was very clean and peaceful.”
“Good slots, clean and good access to the lake. Looking forward to checking out trails next time. The rednecks wouldn’t settle down and be quiet. but what do you do? Will go back later in season when its too cold for disrespectful folks. ”

Platter Flats sits on the eastern shore of Lake Texoma amid rolling hills of post and blackjack oak, where campsites step down toward sandy shorelines and equestrian trails. The campground has a total of 65 sites split between two loops Loop A contains 38 sites and Loop B 27 sites and offers a mix of site types to suit different styles of camping: 27 sites accommodate both RVs and tents, 37 are designated equestrian sites, and there is one tent-only site. On-site facilities are practical and straightforward: flush and vault toilets, showers, drinking water, a dump station, and a boat ramp with a dock, plus a day-use group picnic shelter with electricity. Access is rural but direct Platter Flats lies just north of Colbert, Oklahoma (about 5 miles up U.S. 75 and then roughly 5 miles west toward Platter), and the physical address is 867 Trail Ride Road, Platter, OK 74753 so plan for a short gravel road approach and follow the Corps' signs to the campground. The lake and surrounding public lands shape much of the experience here: Lake Texoma supports a wide range of activities (boating, fishing, water sports, hiking, horseback riding, wildlife viewing and more), and Platter Flats provides easy access to them. Anglers come for naturally reproducing striped bass as well as largemouth and smallmouth bass, white and hybrid striped bass, crappie and catfish; boaters and swimmers use the ramp and beaches while equestrians take to the 40 miles of trails ringed around the reservoir. Hikers can reach sections of the 14-mile Cross Timbers trail that follows rocky ledges and blackjack woodland above the lake, and wildlife fans have two national refuges nearby where geese, ducks and bald eagles winter and deer and turkey are common year-round (Hagerman Refuge: 903-786-2826; Tishomingo Refuge: 580-371-2402). Commercial concessions around the lake provide boat rentals, slips and supplies contact the Lake Texoma Association at 580-564-2334 for details and the Corps operates visitor services including water-safety programs at the Hal D. Malone Memorial complex. Because Lake Texoma is one of the most visited federal recreation areas in the country, check with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers or the Lake Texoma reservation resources for current fees, reservations and seasonal availability before you go.
