“Very nice & clean rv spaces. Area is very quiet & safe.”
“If 14 days is the limit for your stay in the park then I’m wondering why there are a number of campers that are there for longer periods. No one seems to have an answer for this ”

Burns Run East sits on the southeastern shore of Lake Texoma, where rolling hills of post and blackjack oak drop toward sandy beaches and a shallow lakeside dock. The campground contains 48 sites in all: 47 sites are configured for both RVs and tents and one is tent-only. Many of the RV-capable sites offer electrical and water connections, and the campground supports RV use with a dump station. On-site facilities include flush and vault toilets, hot showers, drinking water, a playground and a large, electricity-equipped day-use group picnic shelter. Two boat ramps, a dock and a small beach put the water within easy reach, and restaurants and supply stores are only about a half-mile away in the nearby lakeside commercial area. For those who prefer a mailing address or directions, Burns Run East is at 525 East Burns Run Road in Cartwright, OK, just off Highway 91 north of Denison Dam. The setting is well suited to active outdoor plans: Lake Texoma is famed as a strong striped bass fishery one of the few reservoirs where stripers reproduce naturally and anglers also target largemouth and smallmouth bass, white bass, crappie and several catfish species. The Corps-maintained Cross Timbers hiking trail follows rocky ledges and blackjack woodland for 14 miles above the lake, and roughly 40 miles of equestrian trails loop through the surrounding country for riders. Water sports, boating and birding are common here; two national wildlife refuges nearby (Hagerman and Tishomingo) bring wintering flocks of Canada and snow geese, ducks and occasional bald eagles, while deer, wild turkey and other resident wildlife are regular sightings around the campground. Lake Texoma draws millions of visitors annually, so weekends in peak season are busy bring necessary gear and plan logistics accordingly, and contact the Lake Texoma Association or Corps of Engineers for additional concession and refuge information.
