“Our camper would not fit in our reserved site #9. It stuck out into the road. We couldn't find the camp host, so left to go home to Yamhill. We had to lose our $40. ”
“Loved the campground- although many campers had generators which ran much of the day. ”

Fall River Campground sits along the clear ribbon of Fall River in the Deschutes National Forest, just west of La Pine. The river's headwaters rise about a quarter-mile from the loop and the stream winds through lodgepole and mixed conifer before joining the Deschutes River, so many campsites and the short Fall River Trail offer frequent views of bubbling spring water and streamside habitat. Anglers come for brook and rainbow trout legal-sized fish are stocked several times a year and fishing here is restricted to fly fishing only. The Fall River Trail can be reached directly from the campground and from two other nearby trailheads, making it easy to walk sections that follow the river; beyond hiking and fishing, the forest offers a wider range of recreation (biking, wildlife viewing, horseback riding, winter sports and more) though those activities may require travel to other trailheads or facilities within Deschutes National Forest. The campground is small and simple: there are 10 sites in total, and each site is set up to serve both RVs and tents but there are no electrical, water, or sewer hookups, and no on-site services, so campers must bring their own water supply and self-contained needs. Every site includes a picnic table and a campfire ring with grill, and vault toilets are available in the loop. Reservations are handled through Recreation.gov; note that once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov contact center nor the campground manager can modify that reservation, so plan accordingly. Access is by road from Bend about 17.3 miles south on Highway 97 and then roughly 12.2 miles southwest on County Road 42 placing the campground within easy reach of La Pine and southern Deschutes National Forest recreation.
