“The site was great. Short walk down to the river and the site had plenty of space and a great covered area. The only bummer was the vault toilets kept running out of toilet paper. Overall great site but bring your own toilet paper.”
“Group area didn't have a whole lot of shade, tent area grass was not well maintained. ”

Toketee Group Site sits on the North Umpqua where the river widens into Toketee Reservoir, a calm stretch edged with willows, maples, and alders that invites wildlife viewing as part of the experience: beavers and otters are common along the shore, great blue herons and kingfishers patrol the shallows, and ducks, geese and bald eagles visit in fall and winter. The site itself is a single group unit (TOTAL CAMPSITES: 1) configured to take both rigs and tents (1 Both RV Sites & Tent Sites). A small pavilion with two picnic tables and a large grill anchors an open grassy area that is intended for tent camping, while the adjacent graveled parking area level and roomy doubles as the RV camping surface. There is no potable water at the group site or at nearby Toketee Campground, so bring your own; if you need additional space for guests the adjacent Toketee Campground sometimes has first-come, first-served sites available. Recreation at Toketee centers on river- and trail-based activity. The reservoir is known for German brown trout fishing, though ongoing dam repairs have lowered the lake 2 3 feet below the boat ramp, so small non-powered boats are the most practical option right now. The group site sits beside a trailhead for the North Umpqua Trail, a multiuse route popular with hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders many riders use Toketee as a base for longer outings. Two notable waterfalls, Watson Falls (272 feet, with a short trail to the base) and the two-tier Toketee Falls (a short walk to a basalt-column viewing platform), are only a few minutes' drive away. For practical travel, the site is reached from Roseburg by following OR-138 east toward Diamond Lake and then turning onto Forest Road 34 to reach the river corridor; check the Forest Service for current fees, reservation rules and seasonal road or trail closures before you go.
