“The Juniper loop is so lovely with sites spaced well apart. Wildlife and birds everywhere you look. ”
“Even during the “shutdown “ everything was good, bathroom and campgrounds. My only complaint is the goathead stickers are terrible. Even being careful i had them in carpet. Glad we didn’t bring our dog. ”
“This campground is one of the best in Oklahoma. Beautiful, quiet, clean, well designed, fully accessible with showers and restrooms conveniently located. Great fishing too!”

Kiamichi Park Campground sits on the grassy, forested shore of Hugo Lake in southeast Oklahoma, a working reservoir on the Kiamichi River that doubles as a broad recreation area. The campground opens directly onto water-based activities anglers chase early sand bass and slab crappie in spring, shift to fall bass fishing later in the year, and find strong catfishing through the summer while the lake's miles of shoreline and boat access support general boating and water-sports. The surrounding public lands give the place a decidedly wild feel: more than 25,000 acres in the Hugo Lake area are open for hunting, bow hunting is allowed in much of the park, there's an on-site archery practice range and a 3,000-acre Quality Deer Management Area, and wildlife sightings commonly include waterfowl, quail, dove, whitetail deer, mink, fox and beaver. For non-hunters and families, the park's paved roads make for easy biking, jogging and sightseeing, wooded trails invite short hikes and longer horseback rides, and equestrian day rides can be started from Bobcat Road or Raccoon Road the latter also hosts equestrian camping with thirteen horse stalls. The campground itself contains 73 sites in a spread of six loops, giving groups and individuals plenty of choices: JROA has 21 sites, QROA 24, NROA and OROA 9 each, RROA 9, and a small PROA loop with a single site. Of the 73 sites, 64 accommodate both RVs and tents and 9 are RV-only; there is also a group camping loop with 11 sites and a shelter for larger gatherings. On-site amenities include a swimming beach, a playground and two large day-use group picnic shelters that can be reserved. Practical details: payment in full is charged to your credit card when you complete a reservation, online payments accept major credit cards, and some facilities may carry a $10 non-refundable online reservation fee. If you change or cancel a reservation a $10 service fee will apply and late cancellations may incur additional charges check the Recreation1Stop reservation policy for the full terms. The park is accessed from Hugo by taking Highway 70 east for about five miles and following posted signs to the campground.
