Little River Park sits on the shoreline of Pine Creek Lake in southeastern Oklahoma, where the hardwood-and-pine slopes at the edge of the Ouachita Mountains fall toward 3,750 acres of water and a long, irregular 74-mile shoreline. The campground opens directly onto a swimming beach and an on-site hiking trail that leads into the forested hills; those same trails and shoreline provide good opportunities for wildlife viewing and environmental-education outings. The lake's high shoreline-to-water ratio supports productive fishing for crappie, white bass, largemouth bass, channel and flathead catfish, and various sunfish, and the calm coves are well suited to canoeing and other paddle sports. Little River Park is also a convenient jumping-off point for boaters two boat ramps at the park give straightforward access to Pine Creek's coves and the broader area places you within reasonable driving distance of Beavers Bend and Raymond Gary state parks and the historic Fort Towson ruins. The developed campground has a total of 90 sites that accommodate both RVs and tents, arranged across seven loops: AROA (16 sites), BROA (14 sites), CROA (7 sites), DROA (18 sites), EROA (9 sites), GROA (5 sites), and HROA (21 sites). Many individual sites offer electric and water hookups and a few include sewer hookups; the group camping shelter is equipped with five electric hookups. Park facilities also include three showers, two dump stations, picnic tables and fireplaces at shoreline day-use areas, a playground, and parking areas. Practical details such as current fees, reservation policies, seasonal availability, and any access requirements can change, so check the park's official contact or website before you go; for general access, Pine Creek Dam and Little River Park lie north of Valiant and about 23 miles west of Broken Bow on Highway 3, with the park entrance marked off the highway.
