“Absolutely loved this park. Very clean. Seems like a majority of the sites were on the water. ”
“One of the best kept camping sites in Oklahoma. Maintenance crew is outstanding. Facilities are well kept and pricing is very affordable. We will visit often.”

Coon Creek Campground sits on a wooded peninsula that reaches into Kaw Lake, about eight miles east of Ponca City in north-central Oklahoma, at a lake elevation of roughly 1,010 feet above sea level. The campground feels rural and quiet, with a mix of sunny and shaded sites that open to frequent lake views; the broader reservoir covers about 17,000 surface acres with some 168 miles of shoreline. There are 57 total campsites at Coon Creek, all configured to accommodate both RVs and tents, and the campground's loops include a very small three-site COON CREEK CAMPGROUND loop and a larger SEAS loop with 26 sites; the remaining sites bring the total to 57. Modern conveniences are in place for a comfortable stay: you'll find electric hookups at sites, drinking water and flush toilets, plus a boat ramp on site for direct access to Kaw Lake's waters. The location puts you close to the lake's full range of recreational opportunities: fishing for catfish, crappie, white (sand) bass and walleye is a major draw, and boaters can use any of Kaw Lake's ten boat ramps or visit the full-service marinas at McFadden Cove and Pioneer Park. Hikers and equestrians use the Eagle View Hiking Trail (about 12 miles between Osage Cove and Burbank Landing) and the Five Fingers Equestrian Trail (from Burbank Landing to Sarge Creek Cove); be aware those trails close during Oklahoma's deer rifle and primitive firearms seasons. Wildlife viewing is strong year-round especially wintering bald eagles that peak in January and upland hunting and seasonal waterfowl opportunities exist around the lake. For fees, reservations, seasonal details and any group camping needs (group sites elsewhere on Kaw Lake are by reservation only), contact the Kaw Lake Office at 580-762-5611 or the local information line at 580-362-2466; the Corps also maintains the Kaw Lake office at 9400 Lake Road, Ponca City, OK 74604 and can be reached by email at od-fkk@swt02.swt.usace.army.mil.
