Lake Inez Point 6 is a single group campsite on the eastern shore of a 314-acre glacial lake set in the valley between the Swan and Mission Mountain ranges. The site is the campground's lone reservable listing (TOTAL CAMPSITES: 1; SITE TYPE BREAKDOWN: 1 Both RV Sites & Tent Sites) and is equipped for group use with picnic tables, campfire rings with grills, and accessible vault toilets. There is no potable water or trash collection, so plan to bring drinking water and pack out refuse. The gateed season runs from the Friday before Memorial Day through the Tuesday after Labor Day, and that period is when the group site is available for reservation; the Forest Service notes that any individual sites in the campground are managed on a first-come, first-served basis, so check current conditions before you go. The campground sits at about 4,100 feet, and dense conifers and understory shrubs limit long views of the lake while giving good separation between campsites and vivid fall color. Recreation at Lake Inez is centered on the water: motorized boating, jet skiing and water skiing are common, but the boat ramp is primitive and unpaved, so expect rough launch conditions; non-motorized paddling and swimming are popular as well, typically away from higher-traffic areas. Anglers can encounter a mixed fishery salmon, suckers, pike, trout and perch are all reported and the campground is only a few miles north of the Clearwater Canoe Trail, a 3.5-mile flat-water route favored for wildlife viewing (herons, river otter) and easy paddles. For a land-based outing, the Morrell Falls National Recreation Trail on the valley's east side offers a solid day hike through areas of recent burn, dense forest, and a large waterfall. Seeley Lake town is about a 10-minute drive north on Highway 83 for gas, groceries, restaurants, boat rentals and guides; Glacier National Park is reachable as a long day trip and Missoula roughly an hour away is the nearest full-service city with an airport and hospitals.
