“Beautiful area, campsite was large and set up well. Bathroom area clean and maintained. Second time here & highly recommend! Right after Beartooth pass and close to Red Lodge.”
“The site for the travel trailer was a parking lot next to the dumpster, with bears frequenting. ”
“DO NOT book spots 2 or 3. They are essentially the same spot with two picnic tables, two fire pits and one bear locker. There is nothing to separate them. Absolutely ridiculous. ”

Rattin Campground is a compact, family-scale site seven miles south of Red Lodge along U.S. Highway 212 at the start of the Beartooth Highway corridor. The campground contains six single-family sites: three are set up to take RVs as well as tents, and three are tent-only; there are no listed hookups. Each site has a picnic table and a campfire ring with a grill, and the loop offers accessible vault toilets and potable drinking water. The first vehicle is included in the base fee; if your site will accommodate a second vehicle, a $10 vehicle fee is collected at the campground. Firewood bundles can be purchased from the campground host. For facility-specific questions or current conditions (note: the south bridge is out), call the listed number: (928) 537-8888. If you reserve through recreation.gov be aware refund requests incur a $10 processing fee and the non-refundable reservation fee is retained by the reservation contractor. Outdoor opportunities radiate from the campground: sites sit on the banks of Rock Creek beneath the Beartooth Range amid aspen and pine, and the Main Fork of Rock Creek is known for rainbow trout fishing. Greenough Lake, about eight miles away, offers canoeing, kayaking and additional fishing; the Beartooth Wilderness is reachable from nearby Hellroaring and Lake Fork trailheads, with Beartrack and Corral Creek trailheads also close by. Mountain biking and day hiking are well served by the Parkside National Recreation Trail, and Hellroaring Road is open to off-road vehicles. Wildlife is abundant grizzly bears, deer and elk use the surrounding forests and the campground makes a convenient base for auto touring the Beartooth Highway, visiting Red Lodge's summer events and galleries, or driving about 60 miles to Yellowstone's Northeast Entrance for broader wildlife and scenic exploration.
