“Memorial Day weekend was a circus. It was overcrowded, noisy & lacking privacy. The outhouses were in excellent shape and the fishing was good (as was the weather) but I will not go again on a holiday weekend.”
“Put a note on the website that there is a serious lack of trees for several spots at this campground, and the water spiggot did not have a handle for the hydrant so the supply of fresh water wasn't available either.”
“Awful camp site it was flooded no room to set up. Had to stay for 3 days. We walk through the mud the whole time. No refund available. Ruined our family reunion. ”

Sagehen Creek Campground sits at about 4,997 feet on the east shore of Sagehen Reservoir and contains just nine single-family sites all nine are configured to accommodate both RVs and tents so campsites are limited and best planned for in advance. Sites are shaded by Ponderosa pine, Engelmann spruce, Douglas fir and grand fir, and a few sites open onto lake views; each site includes a picnic table and a metal campfire ring. The campground provides vault toilets and hand-pumped drinking water; firewood can be purchased from the on-site host, and a few sites are accessible. Summer days commonly reach the 80s to low 90s with cooler nights; look for a variety of berries and mushrooms on the forest floor and wildlife such as deer, elk, black bear, goshawks, woodpeckers and boreal owls while you're out exploring. Recreation centers on the reservoir there's a boat ramp and dock inside the campground, and the lake is popular for canoeing, boating and rainbow trout fishing (note the 15 mph speed limit on the reservoir). Trails are immediately available for a range of users: the Sagehen Reservoir Trail is a roughly 4-mile non-motorized loop around the lake with fishing spots and viewpoints, and Joe's Creek Trail begins nearby for longer hikes. Off-road riders can access the Sagehen and KYAOTT ATV trail systems near the reservoir, offering more than 35 miles of routes that are also used by mountain bikers and horseback riders. The campground is reached north of Horseshoe Bend via Highway 52 and the Sweet/Ola corridor, then by Forest Service roads through Ola to the reservoir's east side; because fees, reservation rules and seasonal openings can change, check current Boise National Forest information before you go.
