Silver Creek Campground sits at 4,490 feet in Peace Valley, about 25 miles north of Garden Valley in the Boise National Forest. The site occupies a mixed-growth lodgepole pine stand with Silver Creek running alongside the loops, so mornings commonly bring songbirds and the occasional bald eagle or red-tailed hawk hunting the riparian corridor; deer and elk move through the trees at dusk. Peace Valley is a hub for trail-based recreation: the Peace Creek, Silver Creek Summit, and Bull Creek trails begin nearby and are used by hikers, mountain bikers, horseback riders and OHV users. Anglers will find good-to-excellent fishing on Silver Creek, Peace Creek and the nearby Middle Fork Payette River for whitefish and rainbow trout, and seasonal big-game hunting for deer, elk and bear draws hunters into the surrounding mountains. If you want a soak after a day on the trail, the privately operated Silver Creek Plunge hot springs campground with a pool, small store and a playground is roughly a quarter-mile from the campground. The campground's infrastructure is straightforward and accessible: paved roads and paved parking spurs lead to 57 total sites, of which 53 accommodate both RVs and tents and 4 are tent-only. Sites are spread across named loops Lower Peace Creek (17 sites), Upper Peace Creek (21 sites), and Valley Creek (17 sites) plus two reservable group areas: Lodgepole Springs Group Site (1 site, up to 100 people) and Cabin Creek Group Site (1 site, up to 80 people). Many single and double campsites are available and the description notes that all sites are accessible; each site includes a tent pad, fire ring, and picnic and utility tables. The campground provides drinking water and accessible vault toilets. Group sites come with picnic shelters, multiple tables, campfire rings, grills and ample parking. Roads into Peace Valley are reached from the Banks Lowman corridor via the Middle Fork Road and Silver Creek Road; because fees, reservation windows, seasonal openings and road conditions can change, check current Boise National Forest information or the reservation system before you go.
