“Didn’t even get to go because the road on Scott mountain road was closed ”
“I enjoyed my stay at Cozy Cove. Just like I remembered it. One important improvement would be to replace the sign for the campground ”
“COZY COVE SPOT 1 IS BURNED REALLY BAD, BUT THEY STILL CONTINUE TO RESERVE AND TAKE YOUR MONEY. IT IS DANGEROUS, UGLE, AND HAS NO SHADE. ABSOLUTLY DISCUSTED ON HOW OUR FOREST LAND IS MANAGED.”

Cozy Cove sits at about 5,300 feet on the southeast shore of Deadwood Reservoir, positioned on a bluff where mixed-growth pines shade a small, primitive camping area and nearly every site looks out over the water. The campground contains 16 total campsites; all 16 are usable for both tents and RVs, and many of those sites sit right on the waterfront. Facilities are basic: vault toilets and a source of drinking water are provided, but roads and individual parking spurs are dirt, so expect a rougher approach and limited vehicle services. There is a $5 fee for vehicles entering the campground for day use. The reservoir and the surrounding forest set the tone for activities Deadwood is quiet and lightly used, which contributes to good fishing for Chinook and Kokanee salmon as well as rainbow and cutthroat trout (Atlantic salmon is also listed among fish in the area), and a paved boat ramp on-site makes launches straightforward for water-skiing, canoeing or kayaking. A network of nearby trails supports hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and off-highway-vehicle routes, and the larger Boise National Forest offers additional options like wildlife viewing, picnicking and winter sports depending on season. Summer brings abundant wildflowers along the shoreline and trails; because the site is primitive and remote, plan accordingly for limited services and check current road conditions before you go.
