“Camp host Charles and his wife were friendly and professional. The campground was clean. ”
“Lovely, clean, peaceful site, off the beaten track. Walk around lake took about 2 hrs avoiding cattle and cow pats! Beautiful lake with sandy shores. All sites were good sized, large and private ”
“Well worth the drive, 1+hr on Forest Roads. Camp host Linda was amazing and helpful! Flat, spacious spots, #8 has a path leading to the lake. Great fishing, swimmable, homes nearby. Really loved the remoteness of this gem!”

Antelope Campground sits beside Sagehen Reservoir at about 5,031 feet, shaded by a mixed stand of Ponderosa pine, Engelmann spruce, Douglas fir and grand fir. The campground contains 14 individual campsites in total 13 are set up to accommodate both RVs and tents, and one is reserved for tents only plus a separate large tent-only group site that can hold up to 30 people and includes several picnic tables, a grill and a campfire ring. Single-family sites are equipped with picnic tables and campfire rings as well; roads and some parking spurs are paved while others are gravel, so rigs with lower clearance should plan accordingly. Vault toilets and hand-pumped drinking water are provided, and the host sells firewood; no electrical or sewer hookups are listed, so bring what you need for self-contained camping. Access is on forest service roads off State Highway 52 east of Horseshoe Bend toward Ola, continuing northeast on FS roads to Sagehen Reservoir, with Antelope located on the reservoir's north end check current road and seasonal conditions with the Boise National Forest before you go. Recreation at Antelope is focused on the water and the extensive trail network around the reservoir. A boat ramp and dock sit inside the campground, and Sagehen Reservoir is popular for canoeing, boating (15 mph speed limit) and rainbow trout fishing. A 4-mile non-motorized loop trail circles the lake with multiple good fishing spots, viewpoints and wildlife-watching opportunities; nearby the Sagehen and KYAOTT ATV trail systems open up more than 35 miles of routes for off-road vehicles and motorcycles, which are also used by hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders in many sections. Summer days typically reach the 80s 90s with crisp, cool nights, and you'll find berries, mushrooms and frequent wildlife deer, elk and black bear are present, along with birds such as goshawks, woodpeckers and boreal owls. For fees, reservations and seasonal availability, contact the Boise National Forest office or check their website before planning your trip.
