Pike Community is a single large group campsite (TOTAL CAMPSITES: 1; site type breakdown: 1 Both RV Sites & Tent Sites) set in a stand of ponderosa pine at about 7,700 feet, roughly six miles north of Woodland Park. The single site is built to host groups it can hold up to 100 people and 48 vehicles and comes with picnic and serving tables, grills, a defined campfire circle, vault toilets, drinking water and trash collection. A volunteer host is stationed across the road at South Meadows Campground. Because this is a group facility, reservations and fee rules differ from individual sites: cancellations made fewer than 14 days before arrival incur a $10 service fee and the forfeiture of the first night's use fee; no-shows are charged a $20 service fee and forfeit the first night's rate, taxes and applicable add-ons. Refund requests must be submitted through your Recreation.gov profile within seven days after the reservation's end date; card refunds are returned to the original payment method, while check or cash purchases are refunded by Treasury check and may take several weeks. In emergency closure situations, fees are refunded and the facility manager or Recreation.gov will attempt to notify you. The campground puts easy recreation right on the doorstep: a baseball field, sand volleyball court and horseshoe pit offer on-site play (bring your own equipment), while the paved Centennial Trail runs past the campground and connects to Manitou Lake Picnic Area and neighboring campgrounds an accessible route popular with walkers, cyclists and roller bladers. Manitou Lake itself is a small, five-acre spot for trout fishing and canoeing, and off-highway riders will find the nearby Rainbow Falls and North Divide OHV trail systems within reach. Wildlife viewing, hiking and broader forest experiences are available throughout the Pike and San Isabel / Cimarron and Comanche landscape, and the town of Woodland Park (food, fuel, supplies) sits a short drive to the south with Colorado Springs roughly 25 miles southeast for additional services and attractions such as Garden of the Gods and access to Pikes Peak. Note that unmanned aircraft (drones) are regulated on Forest Service lands and must be operated in compliance with current UAS rules.
