“Average... Easy trail from campsite to Rampart Reservoir, ok access but a little tight. Very stinky toilets prohibited most outdoor activity around campsite. We won't book this one again.”
“We love Meadow Ridge. We have camped here many times. The seclusion of the campground, the nice separation between sites. ”

Meadow Ridge Campground sits at about 9,200 feet in a stand of ponderosa pine with pockets of spruce, Douglas fir, aspen and grassy meadows, and it looks out over Rampart Reservoir just north of Pikes Peak. The loop contains 18 campsites, each configured to accommodate both RVs and tents, and most are pleasantly shaded with a grassy understory though sites have only limited privacy from neighbors. Basic amenities include drinking water, picnic tables, campfire rings and two accessible vault toilets; firewood is available for purchase. Note that at sites 6, 7, 10, 14, 16 and 18 the picnic table and campfire ring sit below the road and require using steps to reach them. Reservations and fee management are handled through Recreation.gov; cancellations up to two days before arrival incur a $10 fee, cancelling the day before or the day of arrival results in a $10 service fee plus forfeiture of the first night's use fee (one-night reservations cancelled forfeit the entire amount), and no-shows are assessed a $20 service fee and forfeit the first night's rate. Refund requests must be submitted through your Recreation.gov profile within seven days of the reservation end date (refunds to cards are credited back; check/cash refunds are issued by Treasury check and may take 6 8 weeks), and full refunds are provided in the event of an emergency closure. The campground is a practical base for reservoir-based recreation and Front Range trails: Rampart Reservoir is known for good fishing rainbow and mackinaw trout are plentiful and supports boating, while the Rampart Reservoir Trail (about 14 miles) and nearby Nichols Reservoir Trail offer clear opportunities for hiking and mountain biking. Meadow Ridge lies roughly 10 miles from Woodland Park and about 24 miles west of Colorado Springs along Highway 24, with access via Rampart Range Road to the Rampart Reservoir entrance; from the reservoir many larger draws of the Pike and San Isabel National Forests & Cimarron and Comanche National Grasslands are within reach, including longer hikes on portions of the Continental Divide and Colorado Trail and a wide range of activities (biking, climbing, horseback riding, OHV routes, wildlife viewing and more) across the district. Before you fly, be aware that unmanned aircraft systems (drones) are regulated on Forest Service lands and must follow federal and Forest Service rules check current guidance prior to bringing a drone.
