“Campground has clean restrooms and potable well water. It’s very wooded and quiet except for the occasional loud truck that passes on 285. ”
“It's ok. Plenty of good trails a drive way. Not a lot of privacy around the campsite, or quiteness.”

Kenosha Pass Campground sits at about 10,000 feet on the summit of Kenosha Pass along Highway 285, offering a compact, high-country base for hikers, cyclists, horseback riders and families who want quick access to the Colorado Trail and Front Range scenery. The campground's 18 sites are configured to accommodate both tents and RVs (all sites described as both RV and tent sites), each with a picnic table and a metal campfire ring, and parking aprons are dirt and gravel there are no electrical or sewer hookups. Sites tuck among lodgepole pine and quaking aspen, and across the highway you'll find the Kenosha Pass Interpretive Area, where an accessible loop trail passes wetlands and the remains of the South Park and Pacific Railroad; on clear days the pass frames views of Mount Evans and Mount Bierstadt. Day-to-day comfort reflects the elevation: summer days are generally mild, nights can be chilly, and the campground provides vault toilets plus drinking water delivered via a hand pump. If you plan to stay, note that reservations and cancellations follow Recreation.gov rules: there are 18 sites total, and cancellations made up to two days before arrival incur a $10 cancellation fee; cancelling the day before or the day of arrival results in a $10 service fee and forfeiture of the first night's fee (one-night reservations forfeit the full amount). No-shows are charged a $20 service fee and forfeit the first night's rate, taxes and any add-ons. Refund requests must be submitted through your Recreation.gov profile within seven days of the reservation end date; refunds go back to the original payment method (cash/check refunds are issued by Treasury check and may take 6 8 weeks). The area offers more to explore nearby Jefferson Lake is about 10 miles north for fishing, Guanella Pass is a short drive for additional scenery, and extensive multi-use routes on the Colorado Trail support hiking, biking and horseback riding but also be aware that unmanned aircraft (drones) are regulated on Forest Service lands and must be operated in compliance with current rules. For facility-specific questions, call the local office at (303) 647-2366.
