Minersville Campground sits along the Stuart Fork arm of Trinity Lake at about 2,400 feet, surrounded by mixed conifers and deciduous trees that open onto clear water and views of the Trinity Alps to the east. The campground has 14 sites in total, each configured to handle both RVs and tents, with the first loop offering paved, level parking aprons and more developed amenities while the second loop feels more primitive and private; among the spaces are six walk-in sites (four single and two double) and two designated accessible sites (numbers 8 and 4). Many sites back right up to the lake so you can tie a small craft to shore at some locations, and the Minersville boat ramp sits immediately adjacent to the campground for easy launching of houseboats, water skis, tubes or kayaks. Campsites come with picnic tables and campfire rings with grills, drinking water is provided on site, two flush toilets and one vault toilet serve the campground, and bear-proof food storage is available; coin-operated showers can be found at the nearby Bushy Tail Campground. The water is the main draw here: Trinity Lake is managed by the Forest Service and supports houseboating, wake sports and strong fishing rainbow trout are plentiful, with brown and brook trout common, making the Stuart Fork a good spot for float tubes and fly fishing. Hikers and wildlife viewers can pick up the 4-mile Trinity Lakeshore Trail from nearby Clark Springs, and the surrounding Klamath Mountains hold varied habitat for birds and mammals. If you reserve through Recreation.gov note there is an additional non-refundable reservation fee (currently $10 for call center and online bookings) and full refunds must be requested at least 14 days before arrival (recreation.gov: 1-877-444-6777); cash or check refunds are handled through the forest office (call 530-275-8113) and refunds for emergency closures will be processed when appropriate, while naturally occurring events like low lake level, smoke or weather are not eligible for refunds. For walk-up site refund questions contact the on-site host or the office at 530-275-8113.
