“Great campsite, great sites, there was only one other person at the sight on the opposite side. My only issue was the men’s bathroom was completely unusable. Everything else was great”
“It was a great campsite. Clean and quiet. Camp sites are on the small side, but if you have a smaller trailer you are good. boat ramp was nicely maintained and easy. we will come back. Kids loved to ride there bike around the loops. ”

Alpine View Campground sits at about 2,400 feet in the Trinity Unit of the Whiskeytown Shasta Trinity National Recreation Area and is a practical choice for families, children, older visitors and campers with access needs who prefer well-developed sites and trails. The site layout includes a total of 53 campsites each configured to accommodate both RVs and tents and the campground is arranged in three loops: Loop A (15 sites), Loop B (22 sites) and Loop C (10 sites). Sites wind through a grove of Douglas fir and cedar with a fern understory, and some campsites in Loops A and B offer views across Trinity Lake. Wildlife is common around the shoreline and woods bears are frequent, so some sites are equipped with bear-proof food storage lockers and the Bowerman boat ramp sits about a quarter-mile before the campground entrance, which is why the campground is popular with boaters. Facilities are focused on accessibility and convenience: the 53-unit family campground includes several accessible campsites, three accessible restrooms with flush toilets, paved social areas, roads and spurs, and drinking water on site; each campsite has a picnic table and a campfire ring, and the posted maximum vehicle length is 32 feet. Recreational access extends into the surrounding recreation area boating and fishing on Trinity Lake (catfish, trout, salmon and bass are targeted by anglers), short hikes such as the 0.3-mile Lake Trail, and the broader Shasta-Trinity National Forest offers auto touring, climbing, horse and foot trails, picnicking, swimming and even winter sports in season. Reservations are handled through Recreation.gov (a $10 non-refundable reservation fee applies for online and call-center bookings); refunds for Recreation.gov bookings must be requested at least 14 days before arrival for a full refund (excluding Recreation.gov fees) by calling 1-877-444-6777. For cash or check refunds call the local office at 530-275-8113 (check refunds are processed within 30 days), and note that refunds are not issued for naturally occurring events like rain, smoke or low lake levels; in an emergency closure Recreation.gov will attempt to notify users and either offer alternate dates or cancel and refund fees as appropriate. For walk-up site refund requests, contact the on-site host or call 530-275-8113.
