Honeymoon Flat Campground sits about 8 miles south of Bridgeport along Twin Lakes Road, at roughly 7,000 feet beside Robinson Creek. The campground is divided into two loops on either side of the road: the west loop is partially shaded by Jeffrey and lodgepole pines and most of its sites have paved parking spurs, while the east loop is more open dotted with sagebrush, grasses and summer wildflowers and has gravel roads and spurs. There are 28 campsites in all: 19 sites that accommodate both RVs and tents and 9 tent-only sites, arranged as single- and double-family sites. Each campsite includes a picnic table, food-storage locker and a campfire ring with grill; vault toilets, drinking water and trash collection are provided, and the on-site host sells firewood. Robinson Creek runs through the campground and can be accessed from both loops for rainbow trout fishing, and the Twin Lakes area is roughly two miles away for boating, canoeing and additional fishing for Kokanee, rainbow and brown trout. Beyond basic campsite amenities, Honeymoon Flat is a convenient jumping-off point for the broader recreation offered in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. Numerous hiking and horseback trails begin nearby including the popular Robinson Creek Trail and the rugged Hoover Wilderness is reachable from the Twin Lakes area for multi-day hikes or pack trips. The forest as a whole supports biking, climbing, fishing, horse camping and horseback riding, hunting, off-highway vehicle use, picnicking, RV camping, wildlife viewing and winter sports, so you can mix quiet creekside evenings with more active outings. For up-to-date information on fees, reservations, seasonal access and any road conditions, check with the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest office before you go; during the summer months, family-oriented educational programs are also offered at the nearby Robinson Creek South amphitheater on weekends from July 4 through Labor Day.
