“No running water, and no notice on the email. No fires due to no camp host made the stay cold and not the greatest. Worst camping trip I've ever had.”
“Other than no running water and campfires, it was good.”

Woodcamp Campground sits on the western shore of Jackson Meadow Reservoir in Tahoe National Forest, about a 35-mile drive north from Truckee along Highway 89 to the Jackson Meadows turnoff. The campground occupies a forested stretch of pine and fir with open views toward the Sierra Crest and English Mountain, making it feel like a quiet lakeside base rather than a large developed park. There are 20 single-family campsites total; each site is set up to accommodate both RVs and tents and comes with a picnic table and a campfire ring. Basic amenities on site include drinking water and a combination of flush and vault toilets. The recreation area and campground are operated by the Nevada Irrigation District in cooperation with the Tahoe National Forest; for questions about fees, reservations, seasonal openings or other facility-specific details call (530) 994-3401. The reservoir and surrounding public lands make Woodcamp a good jump-off point for water and trail activities. Jackson Meadow Reservoir supports boating, canoeing, water skiing and swimming, and the broader recreation area provides a boat ramp and a designated swim beach; anglers can fish for rainbow and brown trout. Within the campground a half-mile interpretive nature trail offers a short, easy walk among the campsites, and the Pacific Crest Trail runs along the east side of the lake for longer hikes. Hunting and mountain biking are popular in the surrounding forest, and nearby public lands such as the Grouse Ridge non-motorized area and the Bowman corridor lakes expand options for horseback riding, off-highway-vehicle routes, auto touring, picnicking and wildlife viewing across the Tahoe National Forest.
