“Beautiful campground with a very nice host. Location is incredible. Found some amazing places when walking around. Will definitely be coming back here. ”
“We were very disappointed that we could not have a campfire & the only reason was our camp had no host. It rained the whole week we were their. The neighboring host could have also been at our camp also.”

East Meadow Campground sits on the northeastern shore of Jackson Meadow Reservoir, a roughly 1,000-acre lake tucked into a rolling valley of pine and fir where the Sierra Crest and English Mountain rise on the horizon. The water is the immediate draw: the reservoir supports boating, canoeing, water skiing and a designated swim beach nearby, while anglers target rainbow and brown trout (a concrete boat ramp is at neighboring Pass Creek Campground and boats can be moored near some sites). A stretch of the Pacific Crest Trail runs along the lake's eastern side, open to hikers and horseback riders and offering reliable wildlife-viewing opportunities; beyond the shoreline you'll find a wide range of forest recreation in Tahoe National Forest including day rides, biking and hunting. Keep in mind the lake is used for irrigation, so water levels commonly drop as the season advances. The campground has 44 sites in total, all configured to serve both RVs and tent campers, with a mix of single- and double-family sites; each campsite includes a picnic table and a campfire ring. Facilities on site include drinking water and a combination of flushing and vault toilets, and the site is managed by Tahoe National Forest (for facility-specific questions call (530) 994-3401). Access requires turning off Highway 89 north of Truckee and following Forest Road 07 west to Jackson Meadows Reservoir turn into the campground at the Pass Creek Campground sign so it's a good idea to check road and seasonal conditions before you go. Beyond the campground itself, the surrounding forest supports a broad slate of activities from auto touring and off-highway vehicle routes to fishing, swimming, horseback riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing making East Meadow a practical base for exploring this part of the Sierra.
