Pass Creek Campground sits on the northeastern shore of Jackson Meadow Reservoir inside Tahoe National Forest, under a dense stand of pine and fir with open views toward the Sierra Crest and English Mountain. The loop contains 30 campsites each laid out for both RVs and tents and every site includes a picnic table and a metal campfire ring for cooking and evening fires. The campground provides both flushing and vault toilets and drinking water, and a boat ramp at the site puts the lake immediately within reach. Access is reached from Interstate 80 via the Truckee/Highway 89 exit; follow Highway 89 north about 17 miles to the Jackson Meadows turnoff, then continue west on Forest Road 07 for roughly 18 miles to the reservoir and follow signs to Pass Creek Campground. For facility-specific information, including fees, reservation policies and seasonal conditions, call (530) 994-3401. Recreation centers on the reservoir: anglers fish for rainbow and brown trout from shore or boat, and the boat ramp supports boating, canoeing and water skiing while a designated swim beach is nearby for summer swims. The Pacific Crest Trail skirts the east side of the lake, offering long hikes or day trips, and the surrounding landscape is used for biking and hunting; nearby attractions include the Grouse Ridge Non-Motorized Area and the Bowman corridor of smaller lakes and trails. More broadly, Tahoe National Forest supports auto touring, horseback riding and horse camping, off-highway vehicle use on designated routes, picnicking and wildlife viewing, many of which can be incorporated into a stay at Pass Creek depending on your interests and the season.
