“Fantastic! You will love it . Great for families including pups and so relaxing.”
“Nice and quiet campground with phenomenal water access. Unfortunately, it is still recouping from the Creek Fire limiting the shade that each campsite has currently. The bathrooms were super clean and there are several fresh water spigots throughout. We will definitely be back! ”

Lower Billy Creek Campground sits on the shore of Huntington Lake on the western slope of the central Sierra Nevada and offers clear, immediate access to the lake and to the Kaiser Wilderness trail network. All 10 sites look out over the water, making this a compact, scenic base for water-centered days swimming, sailing, boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing and water-skiing are all available on Huntington Lake and for hikes into the surrounding forest. Trails within easy reach include Rancheria Falls, Indian Pools and Black Point, and horseback riders and hikers can join the 12-mile Kaiser Loop Trail that links into a larger wilderness system. The adjacent Billy Creek Guard Station Museum is right by the campground and provides historical context on Huntington Lake, Native American presence in the area and Forest Service history, while California Land Management runs summer interpretive programs and nature walks at several local sites. If you want to stretch your drive into a day trip, the Sierra Vista Scenic Byway (Highway 168) unfolds nearby. Facilities at Lower Billy Creek are straightforward and built for simple, lakeside camping: each of the 10 sites accommodates both RVs and tents and includes a picnic table, a food-storage locker and a campfire ring; paved parking spurs are provided but sites are fairly tight and trees close in, so maneuvering larger RVs can be challenging. Vault toilets and potable drinking water are on site; there are no hookups listed. Check in at the Huntington Lake Campground office at Eastwood before setting up camp (from Clovis, follow Highway 168 north about 70 miles to the Eastwood office). Sites are reservable through Recreation.gov individual sites can generally be booked up to six months in advance (group sites up to 12 months), and changes or cancellations carry a $10 service fee; cancelling the day before or on the day of arrival will incur that $10 fee plus forfeiture of the first night's use fee (not to exceed the total paid), no-shows can be charged a $20 service fee and forfeiture of use fees, and refund requests must be made within 14 days of your scheduled departure. For facility-specific questions call (559) 893-2308; Recreation.gov reservations and general assistance are available at 1-877-444-6777 (charges appear on statements as "Recreation.gov 877-444-6777").
