Long Point Campground sits on the southwestern shore of Antelope Lake in the northern Sierra Nevada section of Plumas National Forest, where pines and firs shade the campground at about 5,000 feet elevation. The site layout feels intimate because the lake comes close on three sides most of the 35 campsites, which accommodate both tents and RVs, have open water views. A mix of single-family spaces and larger group sites are available; each site includes a picnic table and a campfire ring with a grill, and vault toilets plus a drinking-water source are on site. Because some campsites drop right down to shallow water they're handy for wading and shoreline fishing, while other sites sit beside deeper water where you can keep a boat anchored nearby. Recreation at Long Point centers on the water: the lake is quieter and more remote than many Sierra reservoirs, so it draws anglers (bass fishing is well regarded) as well as sailors and small-boat users. As one of three campgrounds in the Antelope Lake Recreation Area, Long Point offers easy access to boating right from camp and a calmer setting for exploring the shoreline. The campground is roughly 30 miles northeast of Taylorsville, reached via the Genesee Antelope Lake corridor and a few miles of Forest Service roads from Janesville (County Road 208 onto FS roads 28N01 and 28N03).
