“Beautiful camp site. Great camp hosts. We had a blast! ”
“Beautiful rustic campground. I stayed for 4 nights over4th of July. My family and I had the time of our lives. No cell service. 40 mins to closest store for ice or necessities, but the drive is breathtaking. ”

Boulder Creek Campground sits in the northern Sierra Nevada within Plumas National Forest at about 5,000 feet elevation, on the forested shore of Antelope Lake a small, remote reservoir with roughly 15 miles of shoreline. Pines and firs (Jeffrey and lodgepole among them) crowd the hills around the water, and protected coves draw migratory birds, so the setting feels wooded and quiet rather than open and lakeside; none of the sites are directly on the water, though a few offer limited lake views and most are only a short walk from the shore. The lake is the focal point for activity here: swimmers, kayakers, canoeists and boaters use a multi-lane boat ramp located less than two miles from the campground, and anglers chase largemouth and smallmouth bass, bluegill and several trout species. Trails in the surrounding country are rugged and dusty, making this a better spot for mountain biking than for long, easy day hikes immediately adjacent to the campground. Practical details are straightforward: the campground contains 42 single-family campsites, each set up to accommodate both tents and RVs, and several of those sites are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Sites include a picnic table and campfire ring; vault toilets and potable drinking water are provided, and an amphitheater hosts educational campfire programs for visitors. Because services are limited in the area, expect a remote-feeling visit the nearest gas and phone are about 25 miles away in Taylorsville and plan accordingly for fuel, supplies and any towing or RV needs. Access follows forest and county roads off Highway 70/89 from the Oroville/Taylorsville corridor; once you're on lake access roads the campground signage will guide you the final miles.
