“This is a very nice, clean campground. Beautiful views. Easy access with campground sites spread out nicely. The only down side was staying at site 18 led to smelling fumes from the vault toilets off and on. ”
“Quiet and relaxing location to view the stars and visit nearby Granite Lake”

Yavapai Campground sits at about 5,600 feet inside the Granite Basin Recreation Area, roughly seven miles northwest of downtown Prescott along Iron Springs/Granite Basin roads. The site is set among ponderosa and limber pines, oaks, manzanita and granite outcrops, with Granite Basin Lake and the Granite Mountain Wilderness within easy reach; Thumb Butte rises to the south and is another prominent nearby landmark. Outdoor options spill out from the campground anglers fish for largemouth bass, channel catfish and sunfish on the lake and paddlers can canoe its quiet water; hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders will find a network of connector and loop trails that allow multiple modes of travel, and bird- and wildlife-viewing are commonly rewarding. Yavapai is open year-round and welcomes a wide range of visitors; for broader Prescott National Forest activities in the area you'll also find opportunities for boating, horse camping, picnicking, visiting a ranger/visitor center, and staying at nearby fire lookouts or cabins when those are available. The campground contains 21 sites in total 19 single-occupancy sites and two double-occupancy sites and every site is configured to accommodate both RVs and tents. Each campsite includes a picnic table, a steel fire ring and established tent pads; four accessible campsites have small pedestal fire grills. Driveways are asphalt and back-in; some sites easily fit a tow vehicle and an extra vehicle, but space varies by campsite. Note specific restrictions: sites 4, 16 and 21 are walk-in only and cannot be reserved; sites 3 and 4 are limited to a trailer length of 15 feet or an RV length of 25 feet; site 9 has 50-amp service; site 10 is limited to a 10-foot trailer (pop-up), a cab-over camper, or an RV no longer than 25 feet. The campground provides two composting restrooms, drinking water faucets and trash dumpsters but does not have a dump station. Reservations and fee information are handled online or by phone (use the availability/reservation link or call 1 (877) 444-6777); for general campground questions contact the Bradshaw Ranger District at 1 (928) 443-8000.
