“Site ok to back-in. Both of us have back knees so seven steps down to fire pit, a little hard. Site level so that was good.”
“Camp host Manny is awesome. The facilities are also. We're local and camp here often. ”

Sitting at about 5,600 feet on the west side of Lynx Lake and roughly seven miles southeast of Prescott, Lynx Campground is part of the larger Lynx Lake Recreation Area and gives campers quick access to the lake's 55 acres of water, a boat ramp, and the region's trail network. Boating is allowed with motors up to 10 horsepower and non-motorized craft oars, paddles, and sails are welcome; recreational panning is permitted on Prescott National Forest lands provided no natural features are harmed and no motorized or mechanical equipment is used. Hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders will find multiple multiuse trails in the recreation area (note Lynx Creek Ruin Trail #301 and Loop Trail #311 are hiking-only), and wildlife viewing is a common draw here visitors regularly see osprey, bald eagles, great blue herons, deer and a range of mammals, reptiles and songbirds. Summers are pleasant with cool breezes, wildflowers in spring and during monsoon season, and a higher chance of afternoon thunderstorms from late June through mid-September; the lake and nearby day-use areas draw a lot of visitors (more than 90,000 to the lake annually), and the Highlands Center for Natural History, Lynx Lake Store & Marina (restaurant, rentals, supplies), the City of Prescott's cultural events, Watson Lake, and Fain Lake are all only a short drive away. The campground has a total of 35 campsites, and all 35 are configured for both RVs and tents; sites come with a picnic table, steel fire ring, and either an established tent pad or space for one to two tents. Two sites include lantern hangers and several selected sites have a steel ramada; driveways are asphalt and vary between parallel, pull-through, and back-in some will accommodate a camper plus an extra vehicle comfortably while others are tighter, and a few are short walk-ins. There are four vault toilets, two flush toilets, six trash dumpsters, and eight water faucets serving the loop; there are no RV hookups and no dump station on site. Accessibility notes: campsites 10 19, 22 23, and 28 34 have steps, while sites 20, 21, and 35 are fully accessible to persons with disabilities. Reservations can be made through the recreation.gov availability link or by calling 1-877-444-6777; for general campground questions contact the Bradshaw Ranger District at 1-928-443-8000. Fee policy: single sites first vehicle free, second vehicle $5; double sites first and second vehicles free, third vehicle $5, fourth vehicle $5. The Prescott National Forest offers a range of activities including boating, camping, hiking, horseback riding and horse camping, picnicking, visitor centers, wildlife viewing, and overnight stays in fire lookouts/cabins.
