“Great place, beautiful and private spot with many places to set your tent. Bathrooms were in a good condition.”
“Great Place. This was a church camping trip and some have never been camping before. The kids love the big Boulders to climb over. A great weekend and everyone enjoyed themselves. We will be back next year! ”

Upper Wolf Creek Group Campground is a single group site (Total campsites: 1; Site type breakdown: 1 Both RV Sites & Tent Sites) set at about 6,000 feet in the ponderosa-juniper-Gambel oak mix of the Bradshaw Mountains, roughly six to eight miles south of Prescott near the Groom Creek/Goldwater Lake area. The group area comfortably accommodates up to 100 people and spreads across thinly spaced trees and scattered boulders, with plenty of open space for group activities and RV parking (sites accept RVs up to 40 feet). Facilities on site include 13 picnic tables, five grills and a single campfire ring; there is room for volleyball and horseshoes (net not provided), but potable water and electrical or sewer hookups are not available, so groups should arrive self-sufficient with drinking water and power solutions. Wildflower displays in spring and during the summer monsoon are common, and wildlife sightings range from deer and songbirds to bobcats, coyotes and lizards keep food secured and supervise small children. Afternoon thunderstorms are possible from late June through mid-September, and the landscape nearby still shows a 2002 burn scar you'll pass along Forest Road 97. Recreation at Upper Wolf Creek mixes close-in group amenities with easy access to broader Prescott National Forest offerings: hiking and mountain-biking trails wind through the Bradshaw Mountains, and 15-acre Goldwater Lake a few miles away provides a dock and boat ramp for kayaking, canoeing and small-boat fishing (trout, sunfish, crappie, largemouth bass and channel catfish are common). The campground sits away from other developed sites, making it a good choice for groups wanting relative privacy while still being only minutes from Prescott's services and the Groom Creek Schoolhouse day-use picnic area. Access is via Forest Road 97, an unpaved road that is generally suitable for all vehicles in dry conditions but can be rough when wet; make reservations through the availability link or by calling 1 (877) 444-6777, and direct general questions to the Bradshaw Ranger District at 1 (928) 443-8000.
