Lost Bridge North sits on the north shore of Beaver Lake in the Ozark Mountains, where steep limestone bluffs, natural caves and a scatter of hardwoods and flowering shrubs frame wide views of the water. The campground contains 49 campsites; all 49 accommodate both RVs and tents and are described as large many sites offer a mix of sunny and shaded spots and are only steps from the lake shore. Day-to-day conveniences on site include fire rings, picnic tables, drinking water and flush toilets, which make it easy to set up for a family weekend or an extended stay without bringing every piece of gear. Because the shoreline here is part of a larger reservoir system created when Beaver Lake Dam was completed in 1966, expect a varied shoreline and plenty of room for lakeside activities rather than a tightly confined beach area. Recreation at Lost Bridge North takes full advantage of Beaver Lake's more than 28,000 surface acres and its 449 miles of shoreline at full pool. Anglers can fish for largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappie, bream, white bass, stripers and channel or spoon-bill catfish on the lake, and the colder waters just below the dam on the upper White River are known for rainbow and large German brown trout. Boating, water sports, scuba diving, hiking on nearby Ozark trails, wildlife viewing and picnicking are all common, and hunters can reach more remote upland areas within a short drive. Several commercial marinas around the lake operate year-round and provide groceries, fuel, boat rentals, fishing guides, storage and other supplies and services. For current fees, reservation policies, seasonal openings and any other access requirements, check the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Beaver Lake page: http://www.swl.usace.army.mil/parks/beaver/index.htm. The campground is roughly 13 miles east of Rogers near Garfield, accessed from Highway 127 via Marina Road and local park signage.
