Dam Site Lake Campground sits on the shore of Beaver Lake just adjacent to the dam, where wide views of the water meet the limestone bluffs and pockets of forest that define this stretch of the Ozarks. The campground contains 45 sites in total: 44 sites that accommodate both RVs and tents and one site reserved for tent camping only. Sites are described as large and sunny with plenty of shade and room for activities, many positioned just steps from the shoreline; basic comforts include fire rings, picnic areas, drinking water and flush toilets. The park is reached from Highway 187, a short drive from Eureka Springs or Rogers, and you'll find the campground at the lake-side approach to the dam. The federal Corps of Engineers manages Beaver Lake facilities, so campers should check the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Beaver Lake page for current fees, reservation policies, seasonal availability and any access requirements before arrival. Recreation is what draws most people here: Beaver Lake's 28,000+ surface acres host boating, water-skiing, scuba diving and paddle sports, while anglers target largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappie, bream, white bass, stripers and channel or spoon-bill catfish right off the campground shoreline. Just below the dam the colder upper White River produces rainbow and large German brown trout for fly- and spin-fishing. On land, several trails thread the surrounding hills for hiking, mountain biking and wildlife viewing, and the same karst topography that gives you cliffs and bluffs also contains natural caves for spelunking in the area. Year-round commercial marinas ring the lake with groceries, fuel, boat rental, fishing guides and supplies, and the broader park supports picnicking, a playground and other seasonal concessions again, check the Corps site for which services are open when you plan to visit.
