sabrina B ★ 1 · Sep 2025There are no water hookup at any of the lower sites, only at 1-7. There is only 1 shower house and it is very run down and in need of an update. There are only vault toilets no flushing toilets. There was never an attendant or any kind of camp host the entire time we stayed. The 1 and only dumpster onsite was at the entrance where the dump station was. Because of the steep nature of the area come prepared to use a lot of leveling equipment. I recommend staying in 1-7
Kevin B ★ 5 · Sep 2025Great quiet campground with pretty easy access to the lake! It is all on a pretty steep hill and lots of trees so if you have a large camper or are new to backing up, I would use caution. The bathrooms are also just pit toilets which were fairly clean but they do tend to stink pretty bad.
angela h ★ 2 · Sep 2025There's no host on site to ask any questions. There's also no signs once you get past the one that shows you there's camping, so chances of getting turned around are pretty great. I had spot 19, which is on a hill, and the hardest spot I've ever had to get into. The amount of trees around the spot are beautiful however make it extremely hard to back in a big trailer(36ft 5th wheel). The roads are narrow, and the spot I chose was not level and very slim. There are other spots that look like they've been updated, so those may be better and easier to get in and out of. The outhouse they have near us is not a flush toilet, and there's a ton of bugs everywhere including spider webs in the toilet, you can tell no one's been in there for a while to maintain it. There's no way to check in. However, there was a ranger that came by during the evening to check in everyone. The current spot I have is 30 amps and no water hookup. The view is beautiful and you're right near the lake so that's nice. The lake is gorgeous, and there's a small rocky Beach to hang out on. They also have a swing set up the hill a little bit for the kids to play on. The dump station is set up on the opposite side of your camper, so you'll either have to come in the opposite way or pull your hose underneath. Also, the roads leading up to the campground are very curvy with a lot of low hanging trees so prepared for that. This place looks like it has a lot of potential but needs someone here to love on it and take care of it.

Starkey Campground sits on the lakeshore of Beaver Lake in the Ozark Mountains, roughly a 35 40 mile drive east of Rogers and reached by following Highway 62 toward Beaver Dam and turning off onto Mundell Road. The campground is small but thoughtfully laid out: 24 total sites, 23 of which accommodate both RVs and tents and one designated tent-only, so groups with mixed gear can spread out without crowding. Sites are described as large and sunny while still offering patches of shade from surrounding trees, and many are only steps from the water. Basic onsite conveniences include drinking water, picnic tables and fire rings at each site, a playground for children and a boat ramp for launching features that make Starkey a practical base for families or mixed-use trips where ease of access to the lake matters. Because the Corps-managed Beaver Lake area serves multiple uses, check current fees, reservation policies and seasonal campground availability through the park office or the Army Corps of Engineers Beaver Lake page before you go. The lake and surrounding landscape supply most of the recreational draw: Beaver Lake covers more than 28,000 surface acres and the higher conservation pool creates about 449 miles of shoreline lined with limestone bluffs, natural caves and varied woodland that attract photographers, birders and hikers. Anglers will find a broad menu of species in the immediate lake largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappie, bream, white bass, stripers and channel/spoon-bill catfish while the cold tailrace below Beaver Dam and the upper White River are known for rainbow and German brown trout. On any visit you can mix water sports (boating, water skiing, scuba diving), shoreline activities (picnicking, wildlife viewing, trailside hiking and biking) and even regional hunting at the appropriate seasons and with proper permits. Several year-round commercial marinas around the lake supply groceries, fuel, boat rentals, fishing guides and tackle, so outfitting or hiring local expertise is straightforward again, confirm current services and regulations with the Corps or the marinas before you head out.
