“All the spots that we wanted were reserved so we chose one of the ones that were left. The campgrounds were empty and all the prime spots stayed empty the whole time. I would say other than that it was a lovely weekend. ”
“The three nights we were there we didn’t have anyone come by to clean facilities or dump Trash cans. The area has absolutely no phone service and overall was no the best time I’ve spent camping. 👎👎”

Shouse Ford Campground sits on the lakeshore of DeGray Lake in the lower foothills of the Ouachita Mountains, where wide sandy beaches give way to clear, spring-fed water that covers about 13,500 surface acres as it pours from the Caddo River. The campground is a water-oriented base camp: two swimming beaches and a boat ramp are on-site, and the lake is regularly used for boating, water-skiing, kayaking and scuba diving. Anglers will find the lake well stocked hybrid striped bass are a common catch and both shoreline and boat fishing are good options. Beyond the campground, the DeGray Lake project supports a visitor center and an extensive state-park complex (Resort State Park) with a marina, lodge and golf course, tennis and horseback-riding facilities, a swimming pool and roughly 207 miles of shoreline to explore; Ouachita National Forest and Hot Springs National Park lie within easy driving distance for day trips. Shouse Ford's camping infrastructure is straightforward and practical for families and RV users: the campground has 100 reservable campsites in total, with 81 sites that accept both RVs and tents and 19 sites designated for RVs only. Sites include electric hookups and the loop includes flush toilets, hot showers and potable water; there's also an amphitheater for park programs. Because sites are reservable, plan ahead for busy summer weekends current fees, reservations and seasonal availability are handled through the DeGray Lake/US Army Corps of Engineers information and reservation pages. The campground's lakeshore setting, easy boat access, and proximity to the larger state-park amenities make it a practical choice for groups that want both active water recreation and the option to branch out to hiking, biking, wildlife viewing and nearby attractions.
