“Beautiful campground. But very tight access to sites. Brush Creek was fantastic itself boiling and roaring at the campsite ”

South Brush Creek Campground sits on the west side of the Snowy Range beside the clear ribbon of South Brush Creek, shaded by stands of lodgepole pine, fir and aspen. The campground offers 20 sites in total: 18 that accommodate both RVs and tents, one RV-only site and one tent-only site; six of those sites are pull-throughs designed for trailers under 25 feet. Each campsite has a picnic table and a metal campfire ring/grate, and the campground provides vault toilets, trash receptacles and seasonal potable water (typically available late May through mid-September). A camp host is on site, pets are welcome but must be under control on a leash no longer than 6 feet, and the fee is $10 per night with an additional vehicle charge of $5 per night check with the Forest Service for current reservation options or seasonal openings before you go. As part of the Snowy Range of Medicine Bow National Forest, South Brush Creek is a convenient base for a wide range of mountain recreation. Hikers, anglers and mountain bikers will find trailheads and routes within easy reach the campground is on the Snowy Range Scenic Byway and gives access to popular walks and rides such as Brush Creek Trails, Lake Owen and Rock Creek trailheads listed for mountain biking and day hiking in the area. Fishing is available in South Brush Creek, and wildlife is abundant; black bear, elk, mule deer, moose, bobcat and coyote are all found in the surrounding forest, so store food securely and follow wildlife safety guidance. The broader Snowy Range spans elevations from roughly 5,500 to 12,940 feet and can produce frost, snow and high winds even in summer, so plan clothing and gear accordingly and verify road and weather conditions on WY-130 and Forest Road 200 before traveling.
