“We were there at the end of the season. It was very quiet and vaults were very clean. Our site was level and long enough for our truck and 24 foot trailer. The roads to this campground are narrow with lots of potholes. iron creek falls is a must see. ”
“Beautiful campground in an old growth forest of huge majestic pines. Located along the Cispus River. Fished while a bald eagle looked on, just beautiful!”

Iron Creek Campground sits where Iron Creek meets the Cispus River, threading through a stand of old-growth Douglas fir, cedar and hemlock that gives most sites a sense of privacy and shade. The site layout is large and organized: 99 single and double family sites each configured to accept both RVs and tents are arranged in four loops (Loop A: 23 sites; Loop B: 31 sites; Loop C: 17 sites; Loop D: 28 sites). All sites are back-in and paved with level spurs that make parking an RV straightforward; picnic tables, campfire rings and drinking water are provided at the campground. For anglers, the Cispus River and Iron Creek produce cutthroat trout, whitefish and rainbow trout; for walkers there's a short.3-mile Iron Creek Old Growth Trail that follows the river and a longer Iron Creek Campground Trail that is barrier-free, with benches and frequent stopping points to accommodate a range of abilities. Practicalities are straightforward but worth noting: an extra vehicle fee applies ($8.00), staff presence is limited, and general information is available by phone at (360) 686-3008. Reservations and cancellations follow Recreation.gov rules cancellations made up to two days before arrival carry a $10 fee; cancellations the day before or on arrival incur a $10 service fee and forfeit the first night's use fee (one-night reservations forfeited entirely); no-shows are assessed a $20 service fee plus forfeiture of the first night; refund requests must be submitted through your Recreation.gov profile within seven days after your reservation ends, and emergency closures will prompt full refunds. Beyond the campground, Iron Creek lies in the Cowlitz Valley Ranger District of Gifford Pinchot National Forest, within driving distance of Forest Road 25's scenic corridor (and the Woods Creek watchable wildlife site) and roughly 20 miles from the Windy Ridge viewpoint at Mount St. Helens, with the volcanic peaks of Rainier, Adams and St. Helens framing the district.
