Eightmile Group Site sits in a canopy of pine and fir along the banks of Icicle Creek, about eight miles up Icicle River Road from Highway 2 between Stevens Pass and Leavenworth. The campground is singular: one large group campsite that can accommodate up to 70 people and 25 vehicles, and is configured for both RVs and tents. Picnic tables, a group campfire ring, drinking water, and vault toilets are provided on site, but there are no individual campsites this is a single shared space for gatherings. The area is rich with outdoor options year-round: mountain bikers will find plenty of trails out of the campground, hikers can tackle the Fourth of July Trail (starting around 4,000 feet and stretching 10.6 miles with ridge-line passages and views of the Stuart Mountain Range and Icicle Valley), and anglers can try for rainbow and cutthroat trout in nearby Toketie Lake. The larger Okanogan-Wenatchee landscape includes the Alpine Lakes Wilderness a mix of glacier-carved lakes, old-growth valleys, rocky ridges and snowfields and nearby attractions such as Stevens Pass Ski Area and historic railroad and mining sites. The group site is reservable through Recreation.gov; note the cancellation and refund rules: canceling less than 14 days before arrival incurs a $10 service fee and forfeiture of the first night's fee, no-shows are assessed a $20 service fee and forfeit the first night's rate plus taxes and add-ons, and refund requests must be submitted within seven days after your reservation end date. In an emergency closure all fees will be refunded.
