“Nice campground right on the lake. Be advised, the beach is pretty rocky and gets quite a bit of milfoil later in the season. It can also be brutally hot, as it is in eastern Washington in the summer.”
“Wonderful camping experience ! Large spots, view of the lake, level waterfront. !!! Awesome ”
“Excellent spot, great view. We'll maintained park. Like it.”

Gifford Campground sits along the northern shoreline of Lake Roosevelt in northeast Washington, where steep, ice-age-scoured rock walls meet a long ribbon of Columbia River water formed by the Grand Coulee Dam. The facility is set under a thick Ponderosa pine canopy that shades most campsites and gives a sense of being in a working forest; wildlife is common here, including moose, elk, deer, ospreys and bald eagles. The campground contains 42 sites, each suitable for both RVs and tents, and most offer a clear view of the lake. Practical amenities include picnic tables, drinking water, fire pits, a beach and a boat launch located inside the campground (the launch is open year-round). There's very limited shopping near the site, so plan to bring groceries and fuel with you; the area is unstaffed, though you can call the park's main office at (509) 754-7889 for general information. Recreational opportunities are straightforward and lake-focused: boating, fishing, swimming, hiking and camping are the draws. Anglers come for walleye, bass, rainbow trout and salmon, and a limited season for sturgeon fishing is available; hunters also use the surrounding parklands where hunting is permitted in certain areas. Families will find easy walks to the water, a small beach and periodic educational programs run by the park. Gifford is reached from State Highway 25 off the Kettle Falls Davenport corridor (roughly a two-hour drive from Spokane), and the nearby Gifford Ferry operated free by the Colville Confederated Tribes crosses the river roughly every 15 minutes. The campground is reservation-only through recreation.gov (peak season May September is $23 per night; off-season $11.50), and late cancellations made the day before or on the day of arrival incur a $10 service fee plus forfeiture of the first night's fee (one-night reservations forfeited in full).
