Red Banks Campground sits right on the Logan River about 23 miles northeast of Logan, Utah, reached from the Garden City/Bear Lake area by following US-89 for roughly 17 miles to the signed turnoff. The campground occupies a narrow stretch of riverbank where aspen and willow trees put dappled shade over sites and heavy grasses and shrubs separate campsites for a sense of privacy. Directly across the river a steep band of red sandstone and conglomerate the feature that gives Red Banks its name rises from the water, so many sites have immediate water views and quick access to riverside fishing. Thirteen sites accommodate both tents and RVs, each equipped with a picnic table and a metal fire ring; vault toilets are on site. Hikers can pick up Trail 051 to the south or drive farther to the Tony Grove trailheads, anglers can fish the Logan River and nearby creeks, and the canyon byway makes for a scenic auto tour; the broader Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest around the campground also supports biking, boating, horseback riding, OHV use, swimming and wildlife viewing. Practical details matter here: the campground contains 13 both-RV-and-tent sites (capacity noted as up to eight people plus one vehicle per single site) and accepts payment by cash, check, or Scan & Pay through the recreation.gov app; the listed site fee is $25 per night, day-use parking is $15, and additional vehicles are $10 per vehicle per day. Reservations and cancellations follow Recreation.gov rules expect a $10 service fee withheld on refunds, and late cancellations (the day before or day of arrival) will also forfeit the first night's use fee; no-shows are assessed a $20 service fee and lose the first night's fee. Interagency pass discounts apply only to the recreation/use fee for individual campsites for eligible passes (Senior, Lifetime Senior, Access, Golden Age/Golden Access) and the passholder must occupy the site. Refund requests can be submitted via your Recreation.gov profile within seven days after a reservation ends, refunds to cards are returned to the original payment method, and in the event of an emergency closure all fees will be refunded.
