Superbowl Campground sits in the Indian Creek portion of Bears Ears National Monument, roughly a short drive southeast of the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park and northwest of Newspaper Rock. The site is accessed from the Needles Highway off Utah State Route 211 and then a quarter-mile on a natural-surface road; the immediate landscape is a broad valley cut by Indian Creek with cottonwoods lining the creek banks and Wingate Sandstone cliffs rising nearby. The campground has 37 campsites total all 37 are configured to accommodate both RVs and tents and each site includes a tent/trailer space, a picnic table, a metal fire ring, and access to vault toilets. Each campsite can hold up to 10 people and two vehicles. There is no drinking water or other developed services at Superbowl, and the Indian Creek area in general is primitive, so expect to arrive self-sufficient. Camping at Superbowl is strictly first come, first served: you register at the self-register kiosk on arrival and pay there by cash, check, or the Scan & Pay option through the Recreation.gov mobile app (install the app before you arrive if you plan to use that method). Individual sites cannot be reserved in advance; a Superbowl Group Site is available for larger parties and can be reserved through Recreation.gov. No refunds are available. Recreation in the immediate area focuses on what the landscape offers world-class rock climbing on the Wingate cliffs, cultural-resource viewing and rock art nearby, scenic photography, camping, and OHV touring on designated routes and Bears Ears more broadly supports auto touring, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, hunting, wildlife viewing and RV travel. For facility-specific questions call (435) 587-1500, and remember to bring your own water and supplies for a primitive backcountry experience.
