“Great site with the pavilion over for shade. The stars were beautiful and even saw a shooting star. Right next to the Dino tracks so we checked those out too ”
“Very nice. I appreciated the silhouette art and the dinosaur track display. The campsite was spacious and clean. The code on the online check in for site #10 did not work ”

Courthouse Rock Campground sits about 16 miles north of Moab on the broad, arid benches of the Colorado Plateau, where blackbrush and sagebrush roll toward distant fins and towers like Courthouse Rock and the Monitor and Merrimac formations. The site's 10 campsites are laid out on gravel and can handle large RVs and trailers: eight are usable for both RVs and tents and two are set aside for equestrian use with corrals and trailer parking. Each site has room for two vehicles (a vehicle pulling a trailer counts as two), a picnic table, a metal fire ring, and easy access to a vault toilet and trash receptacle, but there is no drinking water or electrical hookups and no natural shade plan for summer highs commonly in the mid-90s to over 100°F and for freezing lows from October through March. Cell service is available at the campground, and the Mill Canyon Dinosaur Tracksite and Bone Trail are within a short walk, making the area interesting for families and anyone curious about the region's rich paleontological record. Reservations and fees are straightforward but specific: the nightly use fee is $20 per site plus a Recreation.gov reservation fee. Campsites 1 4 and 7 10 are first-come, first-served (payments onsite by cash, check, or by scanning and paying through the Recreation.gov mobile app), while campsites 5 and 6 are reservation-only and must be booked through Recreation.gov (these two sites do not accept cash or checks). Reservations can be made the same day if available, or up to six months in advance; changes and cancellations are handled through your Recreation.gov account or by contacting the BLM Moab Field Office (blm_ut_mb_mail@blm.gov or 435-259-2100). Be aware of the $10 service/change fee for certain adjustments and that late cancellations and no-shows carry additional penalties ($10 service fee plus forfeiture of the first night's fee for late cancellations; no-shows incur a $20 Recreation.gov service fee and forfeit the first night). The campground is a practical jumping-off point for OHV riding, mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking and river trips in the Moab Field Office area spring and fall draw the busiest crowds so follow Tread Lightly and Leave No Trace principles and consult the Moab Camping Guide or the BLM Moab Facebook page for current conditions.
