“Nice group site. Good views. Pretty exposed though and not much happening up here. Quiet though. ”
“Good spot with good views. Bathrooms are maintained and the dumpster is great so you don’t have to haul out trash. Only complaint is price. Posted sign shows 1 night stays at $50 per night, and we paid much more than that by booking with recreation.gov. Kinda disappointing ”

Lone Mesa Group Sites sit above Moab on a high mesa about 1,000 feet higher than town so expect slightly cooler evenings and wide views that make it easy to plan excursions into nearby canyons and mesas. The campground is reached from Moab by following Highway 191 north and Highway 313 west, then a short spur onto Dubinky Road; a short uphill entrance brings you into the site. There are five group campsites in total: four sites that accommodate both RVs and tents and one site set up for equestrian use (Group Site A includes an equestrian corral). Each site is sized for larger groups (site capacities and fees are: Group Site A max 30 people, equestrian corral, $150; B max 30, $150; C max 40, $175; D max 30, $150; E max 30, $150). On-site amenities are practical and low-impact: picnic tables, shade shelters, fire grates, vault toilets and large parking areas that can handle sizeable rigs, but there is no potable water, no dump station and no electrical hookups plan to arrive self-contained. The location is a strong base for mountain biking, hiking, panoramic drives and backcountry four-wheel-drive trips: Gemini Bridges Road, the White Rim Trail in Canyonlands, Dead Horse Point State Park and Arches National Park are all within easy reach, and the Mineral Bottom Green River boat ramp is nearby for river access. Groups commonly use Lone Mesa before and after multi-day trips on the White Rim Trail. Reservations are managed through Recreation.gov; you can change a reservation through your account any time before arrival (a $10 change fee applies only if you move dates entirely outside your original reservation), and there's no change fee for shortening or extending within your original dates or for switching to another Lone Mesa site at the same price and dates. If you need assistance with changes, early departures or cancellations, contact the BLM Moab Field Office at 435-259-2100. Note the cancellation rules: a $10 service fee is withheld from refunds, late cancellations made less than 14 days before arrival forfeit the first night's fee in addition to the $10 fee, no-shows are assessed a $20 Recreation.gov service fee and lose the first night's fee, and interagency pass discounts do not apply to group sites. Refund requests must be submitted through Recreation.gov within seven days of your reservation end date; in an emergency closure all fees are refunded.
