“Beautiful campground and reservoir! If you’re pulling a trailer, come from the city of Ferron. Parts are a steep incline, take your time. ”
“Great campground, well maintained. It was nice to be able to hang around the lake”

Ferron Reservoir Campground sits at about 9,400 feet just below the Wasatch Plateau ridgeline, with the small alpine lake immediately beside the sites and the historic Indian Creek Guard Station standing nearby. The campground contains 18 developed campsites each configured to accommodate both RVs and tents and one larger group site on the lake's northeast shore that will take up to 50 people and eight vehicles. Spruce, fir and aspen dot the basin, giving partial shade to sites and framing views of wildflower meadows in summer and colorful aspen displays in autumn. Roads and parking spurs are gravel, vault toilets and drinking water are provided, and multiple self-pay fee stations handle on-site charges; there is no garbage service, so plan to pack out refuse. Because the campground is high elevation and reached about 30 miles up Ferron Canyon on Forest Development Road 022, visitors should check current road and seasonal access with the Forest Service before traveling. Recreation centers on the reservoir itself small-craft boating, canoeing and fishing for rainbow and cutthroat trout are the main draws while a network of off-road vehicle routes and nearby trail systems expands the playground. The immediate area includes a mix of 66-inch and 50-inch OHV trails, and the expansive Arapeen OHV system with more than 350 miles of maintained trails is accessible from nearby roads; Rush Pond, Willow Lake and Duck Fork Reservoir are a short drive away for more fishing and paddling options. Hikers, horseback riders and wildlife viewers will find plenty to explore along Skyline Drive, which runs above the campground across the Wasatch Plateau and links to additional lakes, glacial cirques and forested terrain. For up-to-date information on fees, access, and any interpretive programs or cabin availability at nearby facilities, contact the Manti-La Sal National Forest office before your trip.
