“Stayed here in a tent one night on way to Moab from Nevada. Nice large site, soft tent area, clean bathroom. It was easy to stop in Beaver for some groceries before driving to the campground.”

Little Cottonwood Campground sits along the Beaver River just outside the town of Beaver, roughly six miles east on SR-153 from I-15, at about 6,500 feet elevation. Cottonwood, aspen, piñon, juniper and ponderosa pine shade most sites and give the small loop a distinctly forested, riparian feel; wildlife in the Fishlake National Forest can include elk, deer, black bear, moose, cougar and mountain goats, so expect to see signs of larger animals in the area. The river is the campground's focal point for day-to-day recreation an accessible fishing path runs through the site and wider forest opportunities include hiking, hunting, horseback riding and off-highway vehicle routes. A nearby horse-and-foot route, the Cottonwood Trail, can be reached through the lower part of Cottonwood Campground and follows rugged terrain southwest for the first two miles before turning east through Horse Flat. The campground contains 14 campsites, each configured to accommodate both RVs and tents; all sites are paved and come with a picnic table and grill. Two of the 14 units are accessible and available for reservation, and an accessible restroom with flush toilets serves the loop. Potable water is provided during the summer season; RVs up to 40 feet long can be parked but there are no electrical or sewer hookups. If you plan motorized trail riding, note the Piute ATV Trail is nearby but not directly accessible from the campground ATVs must be trailered to the trailheads. For current fees, reservations beyond the two accessible sites, and seasonal updates, check the Fishlake National Forest information or the recreation.gov booking page before you go.
