Oak Park sits on the northeastern shore of Navarro Mills Lake in central Texas, easily reached from Highway 31 between Waco and Corsicana via FM 667. The campground offers 49 campsites all configured to accommodate both RVs and tents and every site includes electric and water hookups; there is also a group campsite that can hold up to 125 people. On-site amenities oriented to lake life include a boat ramp, a campground swim beach (for registered campers only), a playground, a fishing pier, and a group shelter, plus a Life Jacket Loaner Station at the gatehouse for added safety. Day visitors use a separate Oak Park Day Use area, and the broader lake supports a full-service marina and additional fishing piers at nearby Liberty Hill when you want more services or to launch larger watercraft. The setting around Oak Park leans toward shady campsites and a mosaic of habitats that draw both wildlife and people: spring wildflower displays of bluebonnets and paintbrushes color the shore, while songbirds, hawks, great blue herons, ducks, geese and the occasional bald eagle are common for birders. Anglers make regular pilgrimages here Navarro Mills Lake holds the Texas state record white crappie (4 lbs 9 oz) and also supports channel and yellow catfish with hybrid stripers showing up below the dam during releases. Besides boating and fishing you'll find hiking, picnicking, water sports, playgrounds and other recreational concessions in the lake area; expect to see mammals such as deer, foxes, coyotes, raccoons and armadillos while you're exploring. Check the park's official website or contact the managing office for current fees, reservation rules, and seasonal updates before you go.
