“Great campground. Short trip to Waldport, interesting visitor center by south end of Alsea Bay bridge. Part of the old bridge was left standing with wonderful Art Deco design including spires topped with Bakelite! Great trip!”
“Overall, nice campground. I would have liked to have the ability to recycle my cans and cardboard. The campground only has garbage. Also, sewer hookups would be a nice addition. We did have a chance to talk to the Camp Hosts and found them very pleasant.”
“Beautiful location, well kept campground. We'll be back.”

Tillicum Beach Campground sits directly on the sand where the Pacific's surf is the campground's constant soundtrack; most of the 58 campsites look out onto the ocean and the Coastal Range, and many evenings end with wide, multicolored sunsets. The campsite area is only a couple miles south of where the Alsea River meets the sea, so you get a mix of beach landscape and distant river mouth views. Cape Perpetua is about 6 miles to the south for old-growth Sitka spruce, tide pools and guided hikes, while Waldport lies roughly 4 miles to the north and is the nearest hub for bay fishing, crabbing, clamming and shrimping. Heceta Beach and Mary's Peak are also within easy reach for day trips, making Tillicum a convenient base for coastal wildlife viewing and whale-watching seasons when migrating whales pass offshore. The campground's physical address is 8199 Hwy 101 N, Yachats, OR 97498, and it's accessed directly from Highway 101; look for the campground and beach signs on the highway. Practical details are straightforward: there are 58 total campsites that accommodate both RVs and tents, spread across three loops Loop 1 has 17 sites, Loop 2 has 20 sites, and Loop 3 has 21 sites. Each site includes a picnic table and a campfire ring; flush toilets and drinking water are available in the campground but there are no showers. A few sites offer both electric and water hookups, though those sites are not located on the waterfront. Tillicum is popular for surfing, swimming, beachcombing and sand play, and the long sandy shoreline makes for easy beach walks and informal wildlife watching; for a wider range of activities within Siuslaw National Forest you can also pursue hiking, biking, boating, fishing, horse riding and interpretive programs. Because of the campground's popularity and the limited number of hookup sites, it's a good idea to make reservations in advance and to check current fees, seasonal availability and reservation policies with the Forest Service or the official campground reservation system before you go.
