“Beauty in the trees. Loved the sound of the river. Camp host was very friendly. Bathroom was clean. Close to the ocean though not good access to the beach from the campground. ”
“Tight fit, not enough space for the cars they allow in. ”
“Love this camp site! Lee the campgrounds manager was really nice and helped us clean up and leave quick when we had to evacuate for the tsunami warning. I will come back next year and bring my sons to enjoy this beautiful place. ”

Rock Creek Campground sits among large Sitka spruce and Douglas fir where moss-draped branches and a carpet of ferns give the forest a damp, coastal-rainforest feel. The small site count 14 single-family campsites keeps the place quiet; every campsite lines Rock Creek and comes with a picnic table and a metal campfire ring. Vault toilets and drinking water are available on site, but there are no electric hookups, and sites are listed to accommodate both tents and RVs (all 14 sites are configured for either use). The beach and a day-use parking area are less than a half mile away, so you can trade creekside shade for sand and surf within a short walk. Outdoor opportunities extend from the campground into the wider Siuslaw National Forest and the adjacent Rock Creek Wilderness, a roughly 7,500-acre tract of dense coniferous rainforest where bigleaf maple and red alder line creeks and rhododendron dots the understory. From the campground you can focus on birding, shoreline wildlife viewing and angling for cutthroat trout and salmon; farther afield the forest supports biking, boating, horseback riding, off-highway vehicle routes, interpretive programs and a host of hiking options. Cape Perpetua Visitor Center is a few miles north with ocean views, short films, and seasonal whale-watch volunteers (especially active in March), plus tidepools and a 23-mile trail system that leads through old-growth stands and out to rocky coastal overlooks. Rock Creek lies about 10 miles south of Yachats on Highway 101; because fees, seasonal openings and reservation rules can change, check the Siuslaw National Forest website or recreation.gov for current information before you go.
